Who we Are

The Ohio Capital Conference is a high school athletic conference located in Central Ohio. It comprises 34 public high schools located primarily in suburban Columbus, Ohio, encompassing Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Hocking, Licking, Pickaway and Union counties. The league is geographically divided into two divisions of eight teams each (Buckeye and Capital) and three division of six teams (Cardinal, Central and Ohio). All conference members compete in the Central District postseason tournaments prior to the regional and state tournaments.

Conference announces first-ever strategic plan

Big Walnut, Dublin Jerome, Olentangy Liberty, Pickerington Central, Pickerington North win OCC's Ralph Young All-Sports awards for 2023-24

The Ohio Capital Conference has announced the 2023-24 winners of the Ralph Young All-Sports Award.

Big Walnut (Capital Division), Dublin Jerome (Cardinal Division), New Albany (Ohio Division), Olentangy Liberty (Central Division) and Pickerington Central (Buckeye Division) are this year's winners in honor their athletic programs' all-around excellence.

The All-Sports Award, in its 15th year, goes to the school in each of the OCC's five divisions that performs the best in the conference's common sports over the course of the school year. Six points were awarded for finishing first outright, five for tying for first or placing second, four for finishing third and so on.

The award is named in honor of former Delaware Hayes athletic director Ralph Young, a longtime OCC secretary and track official who also managed basketball tournaments at the sectional, district and regional levels for the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Young, who died in 2019, also served as treasurer of the OHSAA's Central District.
